The best training most of us ever had was one-on-one. A patient person who answered our questions, let us practice, noticed where we were stuck and helped us try again.

The problem has always been scale. There are only so many patient people, and only so many hours in their week. So most training ends up as slides, videos and a quiz at the end.

Synchroverse offers another option: one-on-one at scale.

One-on-one, for everyone

With Synchroverse, you can give every learner a personal tutor or coaching avatar: a photorealistic virtual character with a face, a voice and a personality, who talks with them in real time.

That changes what training can feel like. Instead of reading about a process, a new team member can talk it through. Instead of watching a video about a hard conversation, they can practice one.

Instead of watching a video about a hard conversation, they can practice one.

Practice the conversation, not just the content

Much of what people need to learn at work is conversational. Explaining a product. Answering a tricky question. Handling a situation that does not go to plan.

Those skills grow through practice, and practice is easier with someone who is listening. Because your characters are built for real-time voice with natural interruption, learners can:

  • Explore a concept by asking questions in their own words.
  • Practice a conversation before they have it for real.
  • Think out loud and get a response that follows what they actually said.

A learner can stumble, restart and try a different approach without anyone else in the room. For many people, that is exactly what makes them willing to try.

Built on your material

Generic answers do not make good onboarding. Your training should reflect your products, your processes and the way your organization actually works.

You can add material to an agent's knowledge, and the agent can draw on it when it answers. Keep that material focused and current, as you would with any good onboarding pack. When something changes, update the knowledge, and remove what is no longer true.

Pick up where they left off

Learning happens over many sessions, not one. Memory can help a coaching avatar bring names, preferences and past conversations into the next session, so a learner can continue rather than start again.

Memory is off by default, and the person using it chooses whether to turn it on. That keeps learners in control of what is remembered about them, which matters even more in a workplace setting. Our post on memory explains what is kept and how to clear it.

Learning at their own pace

Some people want to move quickly. Others want to go over the same idea three times before it clicks. A one-on-one conversation can meet both.

Sessions run in the browser, so there is nothing for learners to install. They can come back when it suits them, take the time they need, and ask the question they might feel awkward asking in a group.

Clear, safe and honest

Training works best when everyone knows exactly what they are working with.

  • Always a virtual character. In live sessions, a notice on the startup screen says "Our avatars are AI companions, not humans," and it appears again after every three hours of continuous conversation.
  • For adults. Synchroverse is for people aged 18 and over.
  • Judgment stays human. AI-generated explanations can be mistaken. Encourage learners to check anything important against your official material or a trusted colleague.
  • Privacy by default. Privacy mode is on by default, so session logs are designed to leave out the words of the conversation. We will never sell, rent or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Where to start

Pick one onboarding moment that people find hard. Perhaps it is the first customer conversation, a product walkthrough, or a process that is easy to get wrong.

Give a character a clear role for that moment, a focused knowledge pack and a friendly, patient tone. Let a few learners try it, listen to what they say, and refine.

Once one moment works well, the next one is much easier to build.

A familiar face for new beginnings

Starting something new is easier with a familiar face. A character who is patient, available and genuinely conversational can make the first weeks feel less like a test and more like a conversation.
