A companion who remembers your name, your plans and the thing you were stuck on last week can feel wonderfully familiar. A companion who remembers without asking can feel like something else entirely.

So we made a simple decision about Aria's memory, and we want to state it up front.

The short version

Memory is off by default. You choose whether to turn it on.

Nothing about your first conversation depends on memory. You can talk, share your screen, laugh and explore with Aria without her carrying facts about you into the next session. If you decide later that you would like her to remember, that is your call to make.

Memory is off by default. You choose whether to turn it on.

What memory is for

When you turn memory on, it brings names, preferences and past conversations into the next hello. That is what lets Aria pick up where you left off.

In practice, that might look like:

  • Remembering what you like to be called, so you only have to say it once.
  • Knowing the topic you were studying last time, so you can carry on rather than start over.
  • Recalling a project, a plan or a preference you mentioned, so the conversation feels continuous.

It is the difference between a friendly stranger and someone who knows you a little. Some people love that. Others prefer a fresh start every time. Both are completely fine.

What memory keeps

When memory is on, summaries of your conversations may be stored so Aria can recall them across sessions. If you have shared your camera or screen, a saved memory may note that a visual observation happened.

A few things memory is not:

  • It is not a face print. We do not use images you share to identify you, create a face print or train AI models.
  • It is not for sale. We will never sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • It is not training data by default. We do not use your personal conversations to train our AI models without your explicit consent.

Memory is not the same as history

It helps to know that memory sits alongside two other records, each with its own controls.

Conversation history

Your conversation history is a record of what was said, kept so a conversation can be shown again. You can delete it, and you can ask us to delete it. When an account is permanently deleted, its conversation history is deleted with it.

Session logs

Session logs are technical records of live avatar sessions, such as timing and events. Privacy mode is on by default, and with it on, session logs are designed to leave out the words you and your companion say. You can view, export and delete your own session logs in Settings.

Our Privacy Policy describes each of these in full, including how long they are kept.

Turning it off, and clearing it

Choosing memory is not a one-way door. If you change your mind, you can switch it off again.

To remove what has already been kept, you have a few options:

  • Delete your conversation history for conversations you no longer want on record.
  • Delete your session logs from Settings.
  • Ask us to delete your data. You can request deletion at any time by writing to privacy@synchroverse.ai.
  • Delete your account. When your account is permanently deleted, after a 30-day grace period, your conversation history goes with it.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. The same address is the place to ask.

Why off is the right default

Memory is one of the most personal parts of any companion. It should feel like something you invited, not something you discovered.

Starting with memory off means you get to meet Aria first, decide how you feel about her, and then choose how much of yourself to share. That order matters to us. It keeps you in charge of the relationship from the very first hello.

A good place to start

If you are curious, try a few conversations with memory off. Notice what you would like her to remember and what you would rather leave in the moment. Then decide.

Whichever you choose, you can change it later, and you can always ask what is kept.
