When people meet Aria, one of the first questions we hear is a simple one: "Can I change how she looks?"

The honest answer today is: that is coming soon. This post shares where we are heading, what you can already shape, and the things that will stay the same no matter how your companion looks.

Coming soon: customization

Customization is the next big step for Synchroverse. The idea is easy to say and fun to imagine: make your companion look like anything.

We want you to have more ways to make your companion look like you imagined: a little closer, a little more you. The goal is for the character on your screen to feel like yours, not just like ours.

A preview of what is to come

The image at the top of this post is a preview: Aria with a different hairstyle and outfit. It is a glimpse of the direction, not a finished menu, and we will share more as customization takes shape.

Expanded appearance customization is marked as coming soon on our site. Until it arrives, the options available to your account are shown in the live product, so that is the best place to check what you can choose right now.

Why looks matter, and why they are not everything

Appearance is a first impression. It sets the tone before a single word is spoken, and it can make a companion feel like it belongs in your world, whether that is a calm study space, a lively stream or a game night with friends.

In a character-led experience, appearance is only the first impression. The more interesting question is what that character helps you explore. A study session, a creative brainstorm and an everyday conversation each ask for a different kind of attention.

That is why customization is not just about style. It is about fit. The right look, together with the right voice and personality, helps a companion feel like good company for the conversations you actually have.

In a character-led experience, appearance is only the first impression.

What you can shape today

You do not have to wait to make your companion feel more personal. Today you can:

  • Choose a voice. Voice sets the pace and warmth of every conversation. Try a few exchanges and pick one you would enjoy hearing every day.
  • Shape the personality. Personality settings let you tune how your companion comes across. Small moments, like a greeting or a reaction to something unexpected, often reveal personality more clearly than a long description.
  • Bring your own agent or AI account. If you already use an AI agent you like, you can connect it and give it a face and a voice.
  • Decide about memory. Memory is off by default. You choose whether to turn it on, so your companion can bring names, preferences and past conversations into the next hello.

Our guide to choosing a character and a voice walks through each of these.

What will not change

New looks will open up a lot of creative room. A few things, though, stay exactly as they are:

  • Always a virtual character. However your companion looks, it is an AI character, not a person. The notice on the startup screen of every live session will keep saying so.
  • Built for adults. Synchroverse is for people aged 18 and over.
  • Your choices about memory. Memory stays off by default, with you deciding whether to turn it on.
  • Care in hard moments. The crisis help described on our Safety page applies whatever your companion looks like.

Following along

We will share updates on customization here on the blog as it develops. In the meantime, the best way to get ready is to start talking. Find the voice and personality that suit you, notice what you would change, and keep a list. When customization arrives, you will know exactly what you are looking for.
